Privacy Policy

Hi-Tech Order App ("the App") is provided by Hi-Tech Pty Ltd (ABN 29 122 595 831) ("we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and protect information when you use the App.

1. Information we collect

We collect the following types of information:

Account and profile information: your email address, name and company name. This is stored in Firebase Authentication and Firebase Firestore.
Device information: a unique, app-generated device identifier and the device platform (e.g., Android) are stored to manage and approve the devices that can access your account.
Order and cart information: products, quantities, colours, dimensions, options, prices, and related Made-to-Measure (MTM) configurations that you build in the cart and submit as orders.
Device app-integrity information: we use Firebase App Check (Play Integrity on Android) to help protect backend resources and verify that requests come from an authentic, unmodified App.

We do not collect location data, contacts, photos, audio, messages, health or fitness data, or precise device identifiers such as advertising IDs.

2. Sensitive information

We do not collect, use, or disclose sensitive information as defined in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). If you believe we have inadvertently collected sensitive information, please contact us and we will delete it.

3. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

Authenticate you and keep your account secure.
Provide access to the product catalogue, pricing, and order features.
Store and process your shopping cart and submitted orders.
Control device access so each customer account is limited to approved devices.
Email order files to the configured business email address, with your email address included on the CC line if available.
Protect the App and backend from abuse and tampering.

We do not use your personal information for direct marketing purposes.

4. Information sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We only share data with the following service providers acting on our behalf:

Google Firebase / Google Cloud: used for authentication, database (Cloud Firestore), serverless functions (Cloud Functions for Firebase), app-integrity checks (Firebase App Check), and secure backend infrastructure.
Email service provider: order files and related messages are sent through the SMTP server configured by us (for example, Gmail or another business email provider).
Other service providers: we may engage trusted third parties to provide hosting, maintenance, or support, but only under confidentiality and security obligations.

We will also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, users, or the public.

5. Data security

Data transmitted between the App and our backend is encrypted in transit using TLS/HTTPS. This includes authentication, Firestore data, Cloud Functions calls, and Firebase App Check attestation. Account passwords are handled by Firebase Authentication and are never stored or transmitted in plain text by the App.

6. Data location and overseas disclosure

Our Firebase backend services, including Cloud Functions, are configured to use the australia-southeast1 (Sydney) region. We do not intentionally store or process personal information outside Australia.

However, some Firebase services, such as Firebase Authentication, Firebase App Check, and Google Play Integrity, may route data through global infrastructure operated by Google as part of their normal operation. By using the App, you consent to this necessary processing. We do not disclose personal information to third parties outside Australia for their own purposes.

7. Data retention

We retain account and order information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When you request deletion of your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal information within a reasonable time, except where we are required to retain it by law.

8. Your rights and choices

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

Access, correct, or update the personal information associated with your account.
Request deletion of your account and personal data.
Object to or restrict certain processing.
Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

9. Children’s privacy

The App is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by updating the effective date and, where appropriate, through the App. Your continued use of the App after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
